In 1977, E.W. and Rubye Hallford had started a good sized peach orchard close to Fredericksburg and found a building on main street that used to be a feed store. Using bales of hay for shelving, they sold boxes of peaches. When winter came along that year, they needed to figure out what else to do with the building they now had, and a health food store sounded like just the right thing! As momentum in the natural foods industry grew, so did The Peach Basket. The store is now one of the best privately owned health food stores around. We have a great selection, great quality, and great service. We pride ourselves on helping people any way we can.
